Delete your account
Two ways to permanently remove your Debrief account and all associated data — inside the app, or by email if you've lost device access.
Option 1 · From inside the app
Delete from Debrief on your phone
This is the fastest way and works whether you're signed in with Google or using Debrief anonymously.
- 1.Open the Debrief app on your phone.
- 2.From the Home screen, tap the gear icon (top right) to open Settings.
- 3.Tap Account (the first card under "Account").
- 4.Scroll down to the Danger zone section.
- 5.Type
DELETEin the confirmation field, then tap Delete my account.
This is immediate. There is no undo.
Option 2 · By email
Email us if you can't open the app
Use this path if you've lost the device, uninstalled the app, or otherwise can't reach the in-app option above.
Email support@yourdebrief.com with the subject line "Account deletion request" and include:
- The email address you used to sign in with Google (if you ever signed in)
- A short note confirming you want your account and data permanently deleted
If you never signed in (anonymous-only use), uninstalling the app already wipes the local user ID. Any server-side traces tied to that anonymous ID are purged within 30 days. Email us only if you want explicit confirmation.
What gets deleted
Removed permanently
- Your account record
- All interview recordings (audio files)
- Transcripts and self-assessments
- Generated reports and scores
- Pipeline entries (companies, roles, statuses)
- Push notification tokens
- Email address (if you signed in with Google)
Retained briefly, then purged
- Encrypted backups: up to 90 days, then auto-purged
- Anonymized crash logs (Sentry): stored separately for stability monitoring; not linked to identifying information
- Billing records: Google Play / Apple may retain purchase receipts independently per their own policies — these are not visible to us beyond entitlement state
